The Bendigo Historic Motorcycle Club

The aims of the club is to assist in the promotion of interest in the restoration, preservation, and use of veteran, vintage, post vintage, and other historical motorcycles. Men and women with an interest in historical motorcycling are invited to join the club.

Location and Meetings: General Meetings are regularly held at 11 am on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the Llanelly Hall, Llanelly. Llanelly is a small place about 40k’s due west of Bendigo and requires turning off the Wimmera Hwy. The grain silos adjacent to the railway are an excellent landmark. The red outline below shows the club location. People not familiar with the district can study the map.

Newsletter: A monthly newsletter, “The Good Oil”, is sent to all financial members of the club to keep them informed about current and future activities of the club.

Club Permit Scheme: To encourage the use of historical motorcycles, the club participates in the Club Permit Scheme (Red Plate), and regular club runs and other social activities are held. To promote the wider use and enjoyment of historical motorcycles the club holds events in the Bendigo area. A Club Permit will be issued for a machine only after the BHMCC Red Plate Officer has made a safety inspection.

A club permit is only valid while the member is a current financial member of the club. As a bonus but only available to members with club plate motorcycles, the club has the capacity to “permit” vehicles other than motorcycles. The club reserves the right to determine what is appropriate.

Membership: Annual subscription to the club is currently $50 which is due on the 1st of July each year. New members are charged a joining fee of $100 in addition to their first subscription fee. Application forms are available from the Secretary.

Membership Policy: Membership of the BHMCC requires that individuals participate in club events/functions in a frequency of not less than once per three months. Before membership is extended to individuals, it is expected that the applicant will attend a club meeting to meet with members, and seek nomination.
