The Whyalla Motor Cycle Club

The Club has been established in Whyalla for over 50 years, born in the days when motorcycles where the only affordable means of transport, and racing was mainly done on an oval track.

From the beginning, the club has bred many State and National Champions, in recent times having multiple State Champions in Motor Cross, Enduro’s and Road Trials.

Presently the Club involves its-self in a variety of Off-road and On-road motorcycle and social activities, Enduro’s, Pony Express, Road Trials, and Motor Cross both Senior and Junior, are the sort of activities members enjoy at both Club and State levels. All of these are run to accommodate riders of all ages and abilities, whether you’re a beginner or a world champion!

Safety is of prime importance with all events being supervised and where possible attended by St John’s volunteers.

Outside the sport of Motorcycling, the Club also has a very strong social atmosphere. Members and their partners all enjoy many social features of the Club, Inter-club cricket matches, trail rides, car rallies, weekends away, drinks nights, and barbecues, just to name a few.

The club runs many events throughout the year to cater to local riders, with regular Motor Cross Fundays at the Club track on Lincoln Highway, Enduro, Pony Expresses, and Trail Rides at which anyone is welcome to attend.

In addition, the Club runs a round of the State Motor Cross Championship bi-annually for those who wish to take their riding more seriously.

The Club meets fortnightly at 8.00 pm on-off BHP pay Wednesdays, at its Club Rooms in the Old Aerodrome Building on Keith St.
