Yamaha Motor Australia was incorporated in June 1983, becoming part of a large international corporation with subsidiaries all over the world.

Yamaha Motor Australia Pty. Ltd. commenced distribution in New South Wales on July 1st, 1983, and on September 1st, of the same year, took on the Victorian distribution.

On April 1st, 1987 and July 1st, 1989 respectively, Yamaha commenced Western Australian and Queensland distribution. Yamaha purchased the new Spare Parts warehouse at Wetherill Park in April 1989 so that national distribution of spare parts could be centralised.

In April 1990, Yamaha Head Office was also relocated to Wetherill Park , adjacent to the National Spare Parts warehouse.
